WHAT IS THE HOLY
CHILDHOOD ASSOCIATION (HCA)?

School Children in Nigeria, in their Holy Childhood Uniform, even though
they receive financial support from HCA they help the poor children in
the Missions
CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN
The Holy Childhood Association was founded
by Father Charles Forbin-Janson, in 1843. Pauline Jaricot suggested he
ask children to help children around the world.
Today more than 150 years have past and HCA
continues to depend solely on the prayers and donations of school age
children to provide for the poor children in the mission countries.
Through knowledge and motivation our young people respond generously and
bring the gift of hope to their peers in Asia, Africa, the Pacific
Islands and Latin America, by helping them to know Christ and experience
His love and care.
HOW CAN I LEARN MORE ABOUT HCA?

Lunch Program in the Phillipines.
Contact Sister Pauline, she is available to
visit the schools/ religious education programs and give a mission
presentation. (Archbishop Dolan, Sr. Joan Curtin and Dr. McNiff strongly
encourage this) The presentation consists of slides, and a running
commentary adapted to the age of the students, concerning a mission
country Sister has visited. The Principals/Directors of Religious
Education are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity
for the students to learn that they too are missionaries and indeed do
BRING THE GOOD NEWS TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.
Please be advised that there is not any fee
requested for a Presentation.
The Mission Education Committee is a group
of returned missionaries who visit the High Schools and share their
mission stories and experiences.
Contact the archdiocesan office to learn
about membership in HCA and to order Mite Boxes or Coin Cards for Advent
and Lent. Collecting and donating money may be done at any time during
the school year. Please remember that all money collected in
materials obtained from this office MUST BE COLLECTED SOLELY FOR HCA and
MUST BE SENT TO THE ARCHDIOCESAN OFFICE. It is not to be used for any
other charity.
